Get national accreditation as a health care provider
This course will provide you with the latest remedial massage techniques. Whilst studying you will practice in a variety of clinical and sporting environments with clients ranging from people with disabilities to elite athletes - we are affiliated with a number of WA sports teams and work with them where possible.
A compulsory and highly valuable part of our course is a weekly supervised shift in the liveworks clinic.
On completion of this course, you are able to apply for and receive a private health care provider number from the nationally accredited massage associations.

Our Diploma of Remedial Massage students learn from industry experts who are passionate about the body, healing and awakening students’ interest in the musculoskeletal system and treatment options to improve clients’ health and wellbeing.
You will train in a student massage clinic to meet the 200 hours of clinical supervised practice, which is located in the Murdoch health precinct next to Fiona Stanley and St John of God Hospitals.
Once you graduate you can work with clients presenting with soft tissue dysfunction, musculoskeletal imbalance or restrictions in range of motion. You will also learn specialised pregnancy massage so you can perform safe and accredited pre and post-natal massage.
On completion you will be eligible to apply for all private health care provider numbers (including Medibank) through nationally accredited massage associations.

When you complete this course, you will be ready for a career in remedial massage. You will have the skills and knowledge to perform massages for relaxation and health purposes. During this qualification you will be required to conduct and complete a large number of massages of varying types, work on a variety of community clients, and work in and with the massage industry. Successful completion of this qualification provides you with the opportunity to become a remedial massage therapist, either as a sole practitioner or with other health professionals such as physiotherapists. Students also learn how to set up their own massage business and understand legal and ethical requirements of the health industry.

The HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage from the Australian Institute of Fitness, equips graduates with the skills and qualification to work as a Remedial Massage Therapist. This program is the only massage qualification to include an AIF Chronic Disease and Pain Care Therapist, which enables graduates to manage clients experiencing pain and chronic disease. In addition, students will also become an AIF Certified Functional Movement Therapist, learning how to identify and treat movement-based dysfunction and prevent potential and recurring injuries. During the program, students will be supported by gaining clinical experience providing massage services to the general public.
