<p>This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to prepare drawings, estimates and plans and liaise with architects, builders and contractors of residential buildings.</p>
<p>You will learn how to present and document building projects using both manual and computer-aided drafting techniques. You will learn about building materials, construction methods and the social and environmental aspects of residential construction projects. Part of this qualification will involve project-based learning where you will work with an industry mentor and apply the skills and knowledge you have learned.</p>
<p>During the course you will cover the theory, underpinning knowledge and practical skills required to produce documentation suitable for gaining a building permit and for the on-site construction of Class 1 and Class 10 Residential Housing projects in accordance with the provisions of Volume 2 of the Building Codes of Australia.</p>
