MPA Skills

Painting and decorating is a finishing trade encompassing both residential and commercial areas. It can include new constructions as well as restoration work and as such, requires candidates with a creative nature and demands a good eye for detail. Delivered over 12 weeks full time, with a mixture of classroom delivery and practical development and assessment in our workshop and 4 of those weeks devoted to on-the-job work experience, the pre-apprenticeship introduces you to life working as a painter. We focus heavily on safety and working at heights before you go out with a host employer. The course introduces you to the tools, materials, equipment and techniques needed to start your career in painting. This pathway is an excellent introduction into a painting apprenticeship. A mandatory 125 hours of work experience are required to achieve this qualification. The qualification also links directly into the certificate III pathway, so all units achieved in this qualification are recognised if you gain a painting apprenticeship.

Mode of delivery: Face-to-face; Delivery location: Maylands
