Applied Vocational Training

If you have a passion for animals and a desire to care for and nurture their wellbeing, then this qualification will provide you with the essential knowledge and experience for a career as a veterinary nurse. This course is also ideal if you are already working in a veterinary hospital or are seeking a pathway from the Certificate II or III in Animal Studies.

Depending on your circumstances, you can apply for either our online or on-campus based course.  If you are an on-campus student you will attend lectures and practical sessions at our Bentley College as well as excursions throughout Perth. If you choose our online option, you will access course material and assessments via our online learning platform and receive support from our tutors. You can also attend Workshops at our Bentley College which provide a hands-on classroom-based experience with our lecturers.

All students are also required to attend a work placement at a veterinary hospital throughout the course.  Work placements quite often result in employment and provide outstanding opportunities for students to learn and progress through the course.  If you are an on-campus or a WA based online student, we will organise this work placement for you. If you are not based in WA, you will have the flexibility of organising your own work placement.

Once successfully completed, you can choose a career as a Veterinary Nurse at a veterinary hospital. You might also consider working in a zoo, shelter, council, laboratory, farm, office or as a representative for a pharmaceutical or food company.

To apply for this course you must meet prerequisite conditions.

Delivery mode: Online and face to face
